GreenPeaks Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how GreenPeaks (“GreenPeaks”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the GreenPeaks mobile application (the “App”).

Information We Collect

• Photos you choose to provide (camera photos or images you select from your library) for plant identification, saving to your gallery, or submissions you make.
• Account information if you create an account, such as email, username, or phone (depending on what you enter) and authentication tokens.
• App usage and diagnostics (for example crash logs and performance diagnostics) to keep the app reliable and improve performance.
• Purchase and subscription status to verify Pro access through Apple App Store or Google Play purchase systems and backend verification endpoints.

How We Use Information

• Provide the App’s core features such as plant identification and MyGarden storage.
• Process community or personal submissions you choose to send.
• Verify subscriptions and prevent fraud.
• Maintain, secure, and improve the App through diagnostics and feature improvements.

Sharing of Information

We may share information only in limited circumstances:

• Service providers that help operate the App such as hosting, databases, and infrastructure providers under confidentiality obligations.
• Store platforms (Apple App Store or Google Play) to process and validate purchases and subscriptions.
• Legal requirements when necessary to comply with applicable laws or protect rights and safety.

We do not sell your personal information.

Community Submissions

If you submit an “unknown plant” and choose community/public visibility, we may display the submission’s plant information and associated photo to other users after moderation logic approves the submission. Personal submissions remain visible only to you.

Data Retention

We retain information only as long as necessary to provide the App and comply with legal obligations.

When you delete your account, it is immediately deactivated and no longer accessible. Your account data may be retained for up to 30 days after deletion to allow for account recovery. During this period, you may restore your account by signing back in.

If your account is not restored within this period, your data will be permanently deleted. Local items such as photos stored on your device can be removed using your device controls.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect information. However, no method of storage or transmission over the internet is completely secure.

Your Choices

• You may choose whether to grant camera and photo library permissions.
• You may choose whether submissions are personal or community/public.
• You may sign out of the App at any time using the Settings panel.
• You may delete your account using the in-app account deletion feature.

Children

The App is not intended for children under 13 years old. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can remove the data.
